Dr. Tianyou Hu earned his PhD in Management from the National University of Singapore (NUS Business School). He received dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics and Literature from the Peking University of China, where he also earned an MBA. His research interests span the areas of strategic management and international business. Dr. Hu is researching interfirm alliances and networks, as well as Multinational Enterprises and Foreign Direct Investment, paying attention to the firms’ response to the changes in the macro business environment, e.g., political risk and multiple- and bilateral interstate relations. He is fond of the perspectives of resource-based view, resource dependency theory, and network theory. Most of his work is quantitative and empirical, employing large data of Japanese and Chinese FDIs.
