Mr. Majed Ramadhan Fallatah

Biography

Mr. Majed Ramadhan Fallatah is a lecturer and current PhD researcher in Management at the University of Glasgow, with a growing research portfolio in sustainable and circular supply chains. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to advancing sustainability and operational excellence in both research and teaching—particularly within the context of the Gulf region’s strategic transition toward a knowledge-based and environmentally responsible economy.

Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, Mr. Fallatah co-authored several peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate his early contributions to sustainability research. Notable works include a stakeholder-focused study on corporate sustainability accounting and reporting practices in the Saudi petrochemical sector using the Best-Worst Method (Abdel-Halim et al., 2025), an empirical case study identifying barriers to sustainable supply chain initiatives (Barahona et al., 2024), and a comprehensive literature review on the Environmental Kuznets Curve across GCC countries (AlKhars et al., 2022). These publications reflect his interest in sustainability metrics, environmental policy, and the systemic challenges within industrial supply chains.

His doctoral research at the University of Glasgow builds upon this foundation by investigating behavioral and systemic factors that influence consumer return behaviors in the electronics and electrical equipment (EEE) sector. The project focuses on End-of-Use (EOU) and End-of-Life (EOL) returns and aims to develop a systems-oriented decision-making framework that enhances social sustainability in circular supply chains. Grounded in Systems Thinking and Value-Belief-Norm Theory, his work explores the roles of individual motivations, organizational practices, and broader systemic dynamics in shaping return behaviors—with an emphasis on equity, well-being, and long-term societal value.

Alongside his research, Mr. Fallatah brings extensive experience as a university lecturer. He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in operations management, supply management, business analytics, procurement, supplier management, and strategic supply chain management. His teaching approach emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, encouraging students to engage critically with real-world challenges in data-driven decision-making and sustainable innovation. In addition to his formal academic roles, he has delivered short courses in supply management through online platforms, reaching a broad audience of professionals and learners interested in enhancing their supply chain capabilities.

Mr. Fallatah’s interdisciplinary orientation combines operations management, sustainability studies, behavioral research, and systems analysis, enabling him to address complex supply chain challenges from multiple perspectives. His work is strongly aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and other national and global sustainability initiatives.

Through his research and teaching, he is committed to supporting the development of resilient, ethical, and socially sustainable supply chains that foster long-term value across the Saudi context and the broader Global South.
