Dr. Irfanullah Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems & Operations Management at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), specializing in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, and Data Science. His research focuses on optimizing sustainable supply chains by integrating advanced optimization techniques with environmental sustainability. Dr. Khan’s work aims to improve operational efficiency while minimizing the ecological impact of supply chain systems.
He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering from Hanyang University, South Korea, where his research centered on sustainable supply chains. He has published extensively in top-tier journals, contributing to the integration of eco-friendly logistics, green procurement, and sustainable inventory management into supply chain strategies.
Before joining KFUPM, Dr. Khan was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Smart Mobility and Logistics, KFUPM, where he researched the use of smart technologies and data science in optimizing logistics and supply chain operations. He also worked on industrial projects in Korea, focusing on data center infrastructure and real-time information sharing to improve supply chain efficiency.
Dr. Khan teaches courses such as Strategic Supply Chain Management, Production Planning and Control, and Introduction to Data Science, providing students with both theoretical and practical insights into supply chain systems. His areas of expertise include Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, and Smart Production, with a focus on integrating new technologies and data-driven solutions into traditional supply chain practices.
Through his research, teaching, and industry collaborations, Dr. Khan is helping to shape the future of sustainable and efficient supply chain management.
