Dr. Mustafa Babiker

Biography

Mustafa H. Babiker is an economist with a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics. Mustafa is a principal professional at Saudi Aramco and an active research associate with MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change. Babiker’s main research interests include energy economics, climate change policies, economic development, and applied computable general equilibrium modeling. Mustafa is an author of a number of publications and a participant in IPCC activities including being a review editor for the 4th assessment report, a lead author for the 5th assessment report, and a coordinating lead author for the 6th assessment report. On climate change economics and policy analysis, Dr. Babiker is an accomplished scholar with contributions widely recognized by the research community and with work appearing in top journals including the journal of International Economics, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Climatic Change, the Energy Journal, Energy Economics, and the journal of Energy Policy.
