Join Professor Johann Fortwengel, General Editor of the Journal of Management Studies (UK ABS 4* and FT50), for a roundtable on coaching and feedback to faculty. Biography

Professor Johann Fortwengel is Professor of International Management and Head of the Department of Strategy, International Management & Entrepreneurship at King’s Business School, King’s College London. He also holds a secondary appointment as Research Associate at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria. He joined King’s in 2016, after postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Michigan and the University of South Carolina, and was a Visiting Professor at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University, in 2023. He holds a doctorate from Freie Universität Berlin.

His research examines how multinational enterprises navigate operations across institutional and country differences, including how they develop their organisational identity. His work has appeared in the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, Organization Science, and Strategic Organization, among other outlets.

He is General Editor of the Journal of Management Studies (from 1 January 2026), having previously served as its Associate Editor and Outreach Editor, and sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of International Business Studies, Management International Review, and Strategic Organization.
