About KBS Business Engagement

The Business Engagement Office at KFUPM Business School is mandated to connect the Business School with the corporate world by organizing professional seminars and workshops, guest speakers for courses, conduct student educational visits to various industries, host certification courses and examinations, arrange students for competitions locally and internationally, seek out collaborative projects for faculty and students to work on with corporate partners, work on donations and sponsorship matters, and support outreach programs of the Business School.

USD 1,125,000 worth of scholarships to 130 KBS students

Since 2018, KBS Students benefitted from the SAP Certification program through a partnership with SAP. They were provided free books, access to SAP online platform, 5-day workshops and an exam voucher for a heavily discounted price

KBS students have taken part in the CFA Research Challenge over the past 6 years and have won first place in National Championships in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023, and MENA Regional Championships in 2018, 2021, and 2022.

KBS student team advised by Dr. Muhammad Akimaya won the first place in the 2019 inaugural challenge in KSA

Partnerships

8 out of 13 Exemptions

Since 2018, KBS students have benefited from 8 exam exemptions from a total of 13 to receive their ACCA certification.
The KBS Accounting degree is also recognised by ACCA.

Our Expertise

Starting semester 171, the Business Engagement Office has concentrated on enhancing the relationship and impact of the industry on the college’s students, faculty, and curriculum. A variety of different initiatives were taken with different levels of impact.

Other Initiatives

Islamic Banking & Finance (CEIF)

The Center of Research Excellence for Islamic Banking & Finance (CEIF)  was established in June of 2009 as part of Ministry of Education’s initiative (formerly Ministry of Higher Education) to encourage scientific research and development in vital and promising areas. KFUPM established CEIF in recognition of the importance of Islamic finance for the development of financial markets in the kingdom and the world. Since then, CEIF has made a great effort in building its infrastructure, conducting workshops, providing training and producing scientific research in the field of Islamic finance.

Data Center / Bloomberg Lab

Bloomberg Market Concepts is a self-paced e-learning course that blends the fundamentals of financial theory with real-world events and data through a series of interactive and engaging tutorials that tell the story of finance from a practitioner’s perspective. Bloomberg Market Concepts consists of four modules – Economics, Currencies, Fixed Income and Equities – woven together from Bloomberg data, news, analytics and television.
